Join the Journey in Chrono Odyssey
Kakao Games and Chrono Studio have officially opened sign-ups for the upcoming Chrono Odyssey closed beta playtest. It will take place this June exclusively on PC via Steam. Even before the announcement, the game had already attracted over 400,000 eager players purely through word of mouth. This is a testament to the growing excitement surrounding this ambitious MMORPG.
Marking the game’s first public playtest, the closed beta is a major step toward the full launch planned for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Built using Unreal Engine 5, Chrono Odyssey aims to deliver a next-generation experience with cinematic visuals, seamless world transitions, and dynamic gameplay systems.
“Chrono Odyssey represents years of passion and innovation,” said Sangtae Yoon, the executive producer. “This closed beta is our invitation to players worldwide to help shape the future of this ambitious project. We cannot wait to play alongside you, experience the story, and see what each and every one of you think of our game.”
Set in the world of Setera, players take on the role of Sentinels. They are warriors fighting against celestial forces and unraveling a time-warped mystery that spans eras, from medieval landscapes to post-apocalyptic wastelands.
During the closed beta, players will explore one of the game’s regions and dive into early story content. They will also get to test out three of the six final classes: Swordsman, Ranger, and Berserker. Each one of them offers distinct combat styles and skill trees. The time-manipulation combat system introduces unique mechanics like Time Rewind and Freeze. Players can create combos, dodge attacks, and outmaneuver foes using them.
With weather systems, day and night cycles, and shifting terrain influenced by temporal rifts, the game’s world promises to be both immersive and unpredictable.
